Learn to successfully photograph what you see and capture ideas and images with your digital camera. This two-part workshop will help demystify digital camera settings with simple, easy to understand explanations. The first weekend will be spent learning straightforward concepts for creating better photos. Between sessions students will work on two projects: creating a finished piece of art based on a photo taken during or after the workshop, and posting images to an on-line workshop gallery for critique by Michele.
During the second weekend together, students will present their finished artwork and learn to photograph artworks for portfolios and submissions.  The group will also discuss advanced photo techniques and explore printing methods, papers and editing.

Michele Burton received her BFA in Photography from the University of Washington.  She is a commercial photographer who teaches at Bellevue Community College and consults with businesses and individuals making the switch from film to digital.  Michele is currently collaborating on a book project highlighting Seattle’s Washington Park Arboretum Wetlands.
