GLENNA HARTMANN August 15-16-17-18 Join Glenna for this intensive 4-day Plein Air workshop painting the beautiful landscapes of the Skagit Valley in pastels. Glenna will focus her first demonstration on concept and composition to get everyone started on the adventure that is Plein Air. Daily demonstrations and discussions will follow where topics like values, mass and color are addressed. Using Glenna’s signature neutral palette, learn the subtle nuances necessary to capture light that is powerful yet understated and also how to infuse your landscapes with emotional design that is personal and not generic. You will visit a variety of sites that typify the Pacific Northwest. There will be lots of time to practice these fundamentals and many opportunities for one-on-one instruction. Glenna received her art education from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where she was awarded a Scheidt Traveling Scholarship for independent studies in Europe. She is currently an active member of the Plein Air Painters of America, the California Art Club, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and the Oak Group, an organization dedicated to raising funds through art sales for environmental groups.
