August 11-12-13-14-15
Some Experience Helpful
$565

In this workshop George will explain and demonstrate how the painting ideas and mechanics of painting the subject matter on YUPO, a synthetic paper, can lead to a unique and personal approach to transparent watercolor. Design, creative representational techniques and subject matter context will also be addressed through daily lectures and demonstrations. Each morning will begin with lecture and a painting demonstration visually explaining the concepts and design of the daily objectives. Each afternoon will be a painting session to reinforce the daily objectives, followed by discussion and critique. For the watercolor artist looking for both contemporary subject matter insights and strategies to working on this exciting painting surface or those of you that just want to experiment with something new, this is the perfect workshop.

George James received his BA and MA from California State University Long Beach and is Professor of Art Emeritus at California State University, Fullerton where he began teaching in 1968.
